OUR program.

We live with our goldies on 5 acres surrounded by neighbors and family, our goldens share our home with us and we experience life together. They spend most of their time between running our property or lounging on the couch. All of our breeding dogs are carefully selected with your future puppy in mind. They have to have an amazing golden temperment and pass all health clearances to enter our program. We test hips, elbows, eyes, heart, and genetic DNA test all of our dogs to ensure they produce healthy and high quality puppies. In addition to great genetics, nutrition and environmental factors play a role in the health and well being of our puppies. We make sure our dogs get plenty of exercise as well as fed nutritious meals and vitamins. We pride ourselves on not being a kennel, we prefer to raise our puppies in a smaller and more intimate environment with full hands on approach from birth to the transition to their forever homes.

Our main goal is to provide puppies that grow to be amazing healthy dogs that become happy companions and fit seamlessly into your family and that will be with your family for years to come. Our dogs truly make our family feel complete. Our love for this breed continues to grow and we want to give other families the chance to experience their amazing hearts and temperament. English Cream Goldens are so friendly, intelligent, and good natured and we are lucky to have them in our lives and hopefully can provide you with that too. Goldens are an amazing family dog and loyal addition, they make life full of love.

All of our Goldens come from International Champions and superior bloodlines, also with great health clearances. We spent a great deal of time in choosing our breeding dogs, not settling for the next one available or just any english cream golden. For example, our Clementine comes from one of the longest lines in the United Kingdom and her grandparents are still alive at 16 years old and still up and going. She is a healthy gorgeous girl with amazing longevity and sweet disposition, both were very important to us when looking for another female to add to our family.

Our girls are not bred until their second heat and will only have three to four litters then are retired, we also only breed girls who have the personality and desire to be mothers. After having a litter if there are any complications or health concerns, she will not be bred again so some of our girls might not have 3-4 litters maybe only one. We believe in taking care of the mother first and listening to her body before breeding or breeding again.

Our litters are born in our sunroom and remain in there for the first 3 weeks, it is a secluded room in our house for a stress-free atmosphere for our new mothers. We have a daybed in that room for us to sleep from the onset of labor so they are not alone and our mothers stay with the puppies until they go to their new home. The puppies are never away from their for too long, we feel it is important for the puppy and mother to have as much time together as possible. At 3-4 weeks old, the puppies then move to our living room so they can be apart of our daily lives and get adjusted to the chaos that comes along with it. This helps with socialization, they stay in this area until they are ready to leave at 8 weeks old. At 4 weeks old we begin the process of potty training, and at 5 weeks we begin to crate train to make the transition for you easier if you choose to crate. We also incorporate daily grooming and house training until they are ready to go to their forever homes. The puppies are microchipped, up to date on all shots, dewormings, and vet health checks before leaving to their forever homes. We keep daily records on growth and milestones on each puppy. We will share these notes with you when choosing your puppy! We also make sure our puppies are experienced to normal sounds that come with day to day life at a young age, such as storms playing on the Alexa and vaccuuming daily to help prevent fears later on. We learned from our friend Silvana who we got our perfect Clementine from, to speak to the puppies from a small age to let them figure things out and use their brands and speak with confidence. So we made sure to incorporate this training technique into our program, instead of saying “sit” while shouting or pointing a finger, we speak to them like people and the special gift they are “show me how good you can sit, look how beautiful you sit.” We truly believe this encourages them to be confident and proud of their actions, not just simply following a task which encourages the best possible well rounded and confident outcome for puppies.

Training is very important to us for our breeding program. We start Early Neurological Stimulations (ENS) at three days old, it is a way of strengthing development and improves emotions, training, obedience issues in the future. They grow so rapidly and develop so quickly we start early to ensure success. ENS is descibed as “Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) is a process we started doing that introduces mild stresses to very young puppies in a controlled way. These stresses help stimulate the neurological system which improves the growth and development of the pup's immune system, cardiovascular system, and stress tolerance.” By providing small stressors to puppies in a controlled way at such a young age, it develops their problem solving skills and faster matures their brains. Stressors can be tickling between thier toes, vaccuum daily, and holding them in various positions for 3-5 seconds. These stressors are not extreme and do not cause the puppy any harm and are slowly introduced to not cause any extreme fears. It is important to give our puppies the best start at life. Of course we want puppies to be puppies but exposing them to life at such a young age helps create a more confident and positive experience of life for your future puppy.

We allow visitors once the puppies are 5 weeks old by appointment only, this ensures they have had enough vaccinations for it to be safe for you and our puppies. Sometimes we only allow visitors to meet the parents of the dogs not the puppies for safety reasons. We do ask that you do not bring any animals with you when visiting and wear protective shoe coverings (that we provide). This is to protect all of our puppies when they are still so young, the health and safety of our dogs is very important to us. Due to COVID-19, we have become a little more strict with visitors so visiting might be restricted.

Note: We are more than willing to Facetime you the puppies, parents, and where our puppies live and sleep because sometimes visiting is not an option and we want you to feel comfortable with choosing us for your puppy. We chose all our dogs as puppies from pictures & videos, so we understand the want to visit in person but rest assure we will do whatever we can to make sure you make a great choice when picking a puppy since we had to do that ourselves.

EARLY NEUROLOGICAL STIMULATION

We start early neurological stimulation (ENS) after three days to boost newborn puppies’ immune systems and introduce them to social interaction.

This is a time period when rapid neurological growth and development occurs. Research shows that performing 5 unique exercises will produce benefits of:

  1. Improved cardio vascular performance (heart rate)

  2. Stronger heart beats

  3. Stronger adrenal glands

  4. More tolerance to stress

  5. Greater resistance to disease

THE EXERCISES ARE PERFORMED ONCE A DAY. 3 - 16 days old

  1. Tactile stimulation - holding the pup in one hand, the handler gently stimulates (tickles) the pup between the toes on any one foot using a Q-tip. It is not necessary to see that the pup is feeling the tickle. Time of stimulation 3 - 5 seconds.

  2. Head held erect - using both hands, the pup is held perpendicular to the ground, (straight up), so that its head is directly above its tail. This is an upwards position. Time of stimulation 3 - 5 seconds.

  3. Head pointed down - holding the pup firmly with both hands the head is reversed and is pointed downward so that it is pointing towards the ground. Time of stimulation 3 - 5 seconds.

  4. Supine position - hold the pup so that its back is resting in the palm of both hands with its muzzle facing the ceiling. The pup while on its back is allowed to sleep. Time of stimulation 3-5 seconds.

  5. Thermal stimulation—use a damp towel that has been cooled in a refrigerator for at least five minutes. Place the pup on the towel, feet down. Do not restrain it from moving. Time of stimulation 3-5 seconds.

Early Socialization

Socializing your puppy helps them to become a happier and well-behaved member of your family. Properly socialized puppies are less likely to develop behavior problems as they get older. We socialize your puppy by introducing them to various situations. Thunderstorms, loud cars, balls, vacuums, lawnmowers, water and lots of affection from different people. This all makes for an outstanding, well-rounded English Cream Golden Retriever puppy.

VET Health Exam

A little before 6 weeks we take our puppies to the vet or have our vet do an at home visit, at this appointment we go over all health exams needed to ensure when you pick your puppy at 6 weeks they have been throughly exammed and are healthy!

1 to 2 year warranty

Our Cream Golden Retriever puppies are guaranteed against genetic hip, heart, and eye defects for up to three years. Yes we do! We are committed to responsible breeding and only breed from the healthiest dogs that have solid pedigrees. We have done everything possible to minimize risks however in an unlikely event that your puppy should have a genetic defect, that we have tested for, we offer a one-year guarantee with an option to extend. It is impossible to guarantee perfect health. While genetics play a key role in your puppy’s overall health so does nutrition and environmental factors as well.

Potty Training

We start taking the puppies outside around 4 weeks old and introducing them to the grass. We take them out after each meal and it doesn’t take long for them to learn when and where to potty.

AKC Limited Registration

All of our puppies are AKC registerable and they automatically come with “limited registration. Limited registration gives you all the rights of AKC registration, but it makes any litters/puppies the dog would have unregisterable. This is our way of not having to have spay/neuter contracts with our homes. We offer full registration to approved individuals for an additional fee. Limited registration means the dog will be a family pet and the owner will not be able to use the dog for breeding purposes and the dog may not be allowed in some AKC shows. Unlimited registration means there are no limitations on breeding or showing.
